Two New H5N1 Infection Cases in Vietnam
  The Ministry of Health in Vietnam reported a new case of human infection of H5N1 avian influenza. The case has been confirmed by the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (NIHE).

The first case is a 40 –year-old man from Gia Loc district, Hai Duong province. He developed symptoms on 2 February, sent to hospital on 8 February and died on 13 February. He contacted with sick and dead poultry before.

Another male aged 27 from Ninh Nhat district, Ninh Binh province developed symptoms on 3 February. He was hospitalized on 12 February and died on 14 February. He had contact with sick and dead poultry before infection.

50 out of the 104 confirmed cases in Vietnam were fatal.
